MI smart band 5
REVOLUTIONARY MI BAND 5
MI smart band 5 one of the finest fit band that I have ever seen and used. First of all i have to tell about the BATTERY life of this mi band it lasts upto 12 to 14 days. It has good and somewhat accurate heart rate sensing. It has good display but not a refined one but for this rate range from Rs.2,000 to Rs.3,000 its worthy and has good life.
DISPLAY AND OTHER FEATURES
It has more than 10 exercise modes which also includes yoga and even skipping. It also has same automatic activity feature if we start running or doing any calorie burning work it will be turned on but the response time is some what faster than Oppo, Realme and Samsung fit bands. Its heart rate sensor (PPG) is 50% more accurate than Mi band 4. It is more affordable to price and performance when compared to that of Samsung galaxy fit and fit inspire HR and it is very responsive when compared to that of Samsung galaxy 3 fit bands.
Another key feature is it has NOTIFICATIONS SUPPORT in MI band 5 we can recieve notifications any social media apps ranging from Gmail to Instagram and also SMS, it has a vibrator motor inside which buzzes as these notifications come in. You can't read them in the watch but it will keep you notified un til you take a look inside your phone. It eases off in basics llike we can check the email headers and small messages without taking out your phone.

DISPLAY
The Xiaomi MI Band 5 has a Display consists of 1.1 inch full colour OLED SCREEN, and has pixel ratio of 294 x 126 pixel. When compared to that of monochrome display of the Galaxy fit this MI band 5 is much more advanced and kind of good looking. It's display is very sharp and colourful and black finish gives it a good look to the OLED panel. But the display covering is glass rather than plastic, which is seen in most of the budget Fitbands.
NEGATIVE BARRIERS
- The Xiaomi MI Band 5 has some issues in PPG sensor (i.e) that is heart rate sensor it mainly uses cadence data and the HR prediction to predict the actual drops and rises in heart rate. It always drops to zero quickly which most of the trackers don't do but it takes time to normalise when we change from jogging to walk pace and its accuracy is OK when compared to other fitbands. While we are resting the heart rate readings are not accurate, the normalization takes much more time and display higher readings rather than waiting for the correct reading, and locking onto it.
- The Xiaomi MI Band 5 also lack an ambient light sensor used by phones auto - brightness that is used in mobiles and watches to change the the brightness it has to be manually changed. So if you see this as a major negative shade of this fitband then you have to compromise with battery as because of this one feature being eliminated the battery can last for day as we manually handle the brightness adjustment if we train in a closed environment such as in gyms or even in our rooms, normal brightness is more than enough. But if it has auto brightness feature in this tracker the price and the battery draining percentage will be more.
- Another major negative point is that it does not have an always on screen mode, this lacks due to ensure you fairly good battery life no matter how many features were switched on like 24/7 heart rate sensing, maximum screen time out is 10 secs. Atleast it does come up with wake up feature which is predominantly a good feature, there is a mode that turns on the fitband whenever you turn wrist to face and the sensitivity can also be customised.
- Another significant negative point is that it does not have and inbuilt GPS tracker it tracks through our phone. It comes through an MI fit app which should e downlloaded to our mobile and the following features that I have mentioned above can be turned on by also using that application, and this app produces a feature GPS via app by this feature your location can be tracked down in that app with inbuilt GPS sensor in the fitband.
- Irritating negative point is that the app contains way too much of ads and we have to wait for the ads to end. As both MI phones and Fitbands comes with this annoying ads.
